Over the past 3 years, churches and places of worship have been under attack. Canadians have the right to practice any religion of their choosing, yet the Liberal Government refuses to speak up when that right is attacked. Help me stand up for the freedom of all Canadians to practice their religion, and condemn the church burnings by downloading and collecting signatures on the petition below.
Whereas:
- Churches and places of worship are recognized as sacred spaces for many Canadians, and any attack on them is an attack on the values of diversity and religious freedom that we hold dear.
- These heinous acts have been committed against 33 Churches since 2021and every act of arson is a direct attack on section 2 of the Canadian Charter.
- These acts of arson not only inflict physical damage but also strike at the heart of our communities by spreading fear and division.
- The silence of this government on the matter shows an utter lack of regard for Canadians freedom of religion.
Therefore we, the undersigned citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to:
- Call upon our government to uphold the principles of religious freedom that is enshrined in our laws and constitution.
- Take proactive measures to safeguard all places of worship and uphold the right of every Canadian to practice their faith without fear of persecution or violence.
